Your Lego set has arrived! Welcome!
“You Can Tech” squashes the myth that technology is just for “wiz kids,” like the nerdy superpowered “hacker” character in movies.
Your child will amaze you with what they can do.
Before your first coaching:
- Keep the box and padded envelope, to re-use for returning the kit when we email you a return shipping label after 10 days.
- Clear a table or hard floor space to minimize distractions and make it easier to recover dropped little Lego pieces
- Help your child get to YouCanTech.org. They should complete activity #1 of MILO ON MARS, which is to build Milo.
- Download the Lego Wedo app onto a computer or Chromebook
- Make sure the computer’s Bluetooth is turned on
- Schedule your starter meeting with your coach at YouCanTech.org / Your Coach
After your first coaching:
- Please do not mix this Lego set with others.
- Let your child fail a little. That’s when they learn the most. Resist the urge to DO anything yourself. Instead, ask them questions that might lead them to an answer.
- The robot will run for 2 hours or so on a set of batteries. If it starts acting strange and blinking, try fresh batteries.

- You will have the kit for 2 weeks. Help your child do one or two activities every day. When they’re picking up, look ahead to what they’ll do tomorrow, to keep them excited.
