Before your first Meeting:

Some tips before we start the meeting in YouCanTech adventures. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

  1. Internet search for
    “Lego Wedo App Download” and download the app onto a computer or Chromebook. For help:YouCanTech.org / troubleshooting
  2. Clean and clear
    Clear a table or hard floor space to minimize distractions.
  3. Are you with us?
    Go to YouCanTech.org/kids. Make sure you can log in with your child's User and Password. If you cannot, contact us at Help Form Here.
  4. Complete activity #1 of MARS MISSION
    which is to build their first robot. There are some cool NASA videos to watch.
  5. Make sure your computer’s Bluetooth is “on”
  6. Check your email for the first parent meeting.

After your first Meeting:

Some tips after we finish the meeting

  1. Please do not mix with other Lego sets.
  2. Let your child FAIL a little.
    That’s when they learn the most. DON'T solve things for them. Ask them questions that lead them to an answer.
  3. If the robot starts acting strange and blinking orangish, try fresh batteries.
  4. Complete activity #1 of MARS MISSION
    which is to build their first robot. There are some cool NASA videos to watch.
  5. Are you with us?

Welcome! Your adventure is an “escape room” where you’ll solve a series of puzzles.

Before your first meeting with your Coach:

Some tips before our meeting.

  1. Clear a table or hard floor space, so it’s easier to work and to recover dropped Lego pieces.
  2. Make sure your robot is charged, with the USB cord included. It should show a green light when plugged in. If not, it charges slowly so let it charge overnight.
  3. If your robot set has blue / pink / yellow Legos, search "Lego Spike App" and install the app.
  4. Inventor App

  5. Make sure your computer’s Bluetooth is “on”

  7. Do the first challenge of your adventure so your robot is built.

As you work on the Escape Room Challenge:

  1. Please do not mix this Lego set with others.
  2. Try things. You won’t get it right the first try. Build your programs little by little and try them at each setp. FAIL a little. That’s when you get better!
  3. If you’re really stuck, ask your teacher, someone else in your group, or request help at Help Form Here.
